Our next meeting will be February 8th, 2012, at the Bear Creek Archery Shop indoor range.

Message From the VP:
After having the monthly meeting on Wednesday we have decided to have the ABC Banquet on Feb. 25th, the date that is on your renewal form had a conflict with the CTAS Banquet.

Please get your harvest info back so that we can get all the plaques done for the banquet. Also update any info to Jeff so that we can get updated email addresses for everyone.

The pheasant shoot is still on for Jan. 28th with Feb. 4th as a backup date for weather, please contact Ken Swanson either by email or phone if you are interested in joining us. We will meet at 8:00 am for breakfast and then go to the field that we will be shooting at. We will probably be able to do some rabbit hunting also but the final plans are still being put together. ken.swanson@ymail.com or 720-331-4260

We will be locking the gate at the range starting in April after we put all the targets out. You will get the code for the gate with your new range cards. We are going to ask that you lock the gate after you sign in and go thru the gate. This is to try and keep non members from shooting at the range.

Mike

The outdoor range has been prepared for winter but is still open with fourteen targets. We have permission to lock the gate to the property. All new and renewing members will receive the combination with their membership card. The guest fee is still $15 and guests must be accompanied by a paid up member.

The shoot dates for 2012 are posted on the Activities Page.

Most ABC members know about the great work that CBA does in Colorado to protect our bowhunting rights and priviledges. But are you aware of that there are other organizations out there fighting just as hard? The U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance is a national organization with the sole purpose and mission to protect and advance America's hunting, fishing and trapping heritage.

The U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance fulfills it mission by uniting sportsmen to: protect against legal and legislative attacks by the animal rights movement; win public support for outdoor sports; ensure the future of this heritage by involving families in the outdoor experience; and promote the sportsman's stewardship role in the scientific management of America's fish and wildlife. In 1990, in the wake of unrelenting attacks on bowhunting by animal rights extremists, the U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance forged 16 major bowhunting organizations into a coalition dedicated to training, mobilizing and motivating bowhunters for their own defense, the Bowhunter Rights Coalition. The U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance provides direct lobbying and grassroots coalition support to protect and advance the rights of hunters, fishermen, trappers and scientific wildlife management professionals. This is accomplished through coalition building, ballot issue campaigning and legislative and government relations. Contributions to the U.S. Sportsmen's Alliance, a 501(C) 4 organization, are not tax deductible unless you are in an outdoors related industry. The U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance Ohio Committee is now selling tickets for a great raffle with a weekly drawing that could put a brand new firearm or bow into your hands. Click here for more info.
